Clover, South Carolina - Mrs. Brenda Carol Moore Boyd, age 80, of Clover, SC, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023, at home.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2023 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2445 Hwy. 557, Clover, SC, with the Rev. Trent Thomas and Rev. Marcus Van Vlake officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
Mrs. Boyd is survived by her husband of 31 years, William D. Boyd, her daughter, Lauren E. Lucky, Clover, SC, her sister, Linda E. Moore, Fort Mill, SC, and her special cousin, Arthur L. Frazier (Penny). Brenda is also survived by her sister-in-law, Kathy B. McCall, her brother-in-law, Neil Boyd (Emily), and her nephew, Brown D. Boyd.
Brenda was born on October 20, 1942, to William Engram Moore and Margaret Ammons Moore, in Charlotte, NC. Brenda was raised in Charlotte and attended school there. Graduating from South Mecklenburg High School in 1961, she was voted Miss South Mecklenburg High and Most Dependable by her classmates during her senior year. After high school, she attended and graduated from Gardner Webb College in Boiling Springs, NC, where she made many lifelong friends and served as Homecoming Queen.
Following College, Brenda started her working career in the banking industry with Georgia Railroad Bank and Trust Co., in Augusta, GA, and later with Clover Community Bank after moving to Clover, SC.
Brenda was a lifelong Baptist until 1992, when she married Bill Boyd. At that time, she became a faithful member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Covenant Sunday School Class and sang in the church choir. She was also past president of the Women in the Church and a Circle Chairperson. She went on several mission trips to Mexico and Panama. She was a Bible Teacher and bus driver with the Biblical Studies Release Time Program.
Brenda was also a member of the Clover Women's Club and enjoyed the time spent with these fine ladies. Brenda should be remembered as the beautiful, loving, and caring person she was.
The family would like to thank Brenda's caregivers over the past five years for the excellent care they provided for her. We are grateful for Dr. Charles Edwards and his staff at Memory & Movement and for Riverview Hospice Care for all the services that they provided during Brenda's illness.
