Danny Cook Obituary

Danny Cook, Sr.
March 8, 2021
Santee, South Carolina - Danny Ray Cook, Sr., 64, of Santee, SC, died March 8, 2021, at his home of a massive heart attack.
Danny was born in Rock Hill, SC and was a son of Billy Ray Cook, Sr. and Gloria Don Totherow Hooks.
He was a long time resident of Indian Land, SC and attended school there when only one school served all grades for the community.
Danny learned to drive an 18 wheeler early in life and this remained his career until retirement. He traveled throughout many states and treacherous highways with long invested hours and yet remained a safe and excellent truck driver for Frito Lay and Averitt.
Danny will be remembered mostly as a fun loving and outgoing person. He could always make you laugh with his comical witty personality which will be truly missed in the days ahead. He enjoyed time spent with his children in their younger years visiting Carowinds theme park, movies, local parks and even the local ice cream parlor. He was a bid kid at heart enjoying his kids visits.
He longed to meet his grandkids and so sorry to say that never happened.
He is survived by his son, Danny Ray Cook, Jr. (Tabitha) and two grandchildren of Rock Hill, SC and daughters Megan Danielle Cook of Lake Wylie, SC and Haley Michelle Cook of Boone, NC; two brothers, Billy Ray Cook, Jr. (Judy) and Jimmy Wayne Cook both of Indian Land, SC; four sisters, Sylvia Cook Broach (John), Shelia Cook McMahan (Terry), Toni Melissa Privette, all of Rock Hill, SC, and the late Debbie Cook Vogel of Rock Hill.
He is survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles who will miss him dearly. His last few months were spent close to Uncle Harry Totherow who was like a father to him. Together they enjoyed fishing and cooking out. Danny loved all his family and looked forward to their visits. Jimmy was his best friend. Danny said so himself. He will forever be in our hearts and deeply missed. RIP my brother. I'll cherish the memories forever.
Your loving sister, Sylvia
