David Feaster Obituary

CARLISLE - Mr. David Ernest Feaster, 69, of 3448 Sweet Hope Church Road passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at his home.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Sweet Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Caldwell officiating and the Rev. Keith McCrorey, Bishop J.K. Stringfellow, Pastor Ronald McClurkin, Minister Bessie Curbeam, Pastor Eddie McConnell, Evangelist Jennifer Smith, Minister Tekeccia Feaster assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with Masonic rites.

Born in Chester County March 29, 1939, he was son of the late Dave Feaster and Lillie Mae Feaster. He was a member of Sweet Hope Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and Chairman of the Board of Deacons. He was a member of Pine Springs Community Club, President of the Christian Burial Aid Society and was a member of Silver Hill Masonic Lodge 128. He attended the public schools of Chester county and was employed by Cone's Mill in Carlisle, S.C.

Survivors are his wife, Bessie C. Feaster of the home; one son, Randy U. Feaster of Rock Hill, S.C.; four daughters, Delores F. Butler of Carlisle, Trinia Feaster of Rock Hill, Melveree (John) Foster and Christia Bont'e (Wayne) Sanders, both of Chester, S.C.; four brothers, Sidney ( Barbara) Feaster of Baltimore; Fermon B. (Lila) Feaster, MacArthur (Elizabeth) Feaster, both of Chester and Frederick (Mary) Feaster of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Virginia (Robert) Pinckney of Philadelphia, Pa., and Annette (Bernard) Proctor of Baltimore; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one aunt, Estelle Price of Baltimore; and a devoted cousin, John Lee (Daisy) Feaster of Carlisle.

Viewing will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester. The family will receive friends at the residence.
