CLOVER - Donald LeRoy "Pop Don" Lawson, 72, of 408 Faulkner Street in Clover, S.C., died at home, Thursday, October 15, 2009.
The funeral service will be 4 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2009, at Woodside Cemetery in Clover, with the Rev. Harry Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Lawson was born February 6, 1937, in Clover, to the late James Ishmel and Mattie King Lawson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Lawson; stepmother, Ruth N. Lawson; and stepfather, Pete Helms. Don was known as the community handyman and was a dear friend to many.
Survivors are his loving wife of 21 years, Jean R. Lawson; son, Dwayne Lawson of Aiken, S.C.; daughters, Rebecca Boughman of Gastonia, N.C., and Barbara Burton of Clover; brothers, Dennis Lawson of Clover, David Lawson of Gastonia, and Dean Lawson of Rock Hill, S.C.; sister, Debra Good of Rock Hill; four granddaughters, April Dunlap, Lindsey Lawson, Lauren Boughman and Tiffany Rippy; four grandsons, Michael Phair, Jamey Boughman, Jason Burton and Trey Rippy; and great-grandchildren, Mikaylah Dunlap, Josh Dunlap, Tyler Burton and Odin Perez.
Memorials may be made to Open Bible Church, 205 Kings Mountain St., Clover, SC 29710.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss and I am so sorry I am just finding out.My family really liked Don so much my kids just thought the world of him.Everytime we sit in our chairs on the the front porch I will think of him.He was such a nice person and could build anything.My thoughts and prayers are with you.
