Donald McSwain Obituary
The funeral will be at 2 PM on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. David Brannen officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 3 - 5 PM at Bratton Funeral Home in York, and other times at the home of Mr. McSwain.
Donald was a son of the late Roy Y. McSwain and Blanche Pruette McSwain, and was the widower of Nancy Griffin McSwain. He was a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Sharon, was retired from Lockhart Power Company, was currently employed with York County, and was a member of Palmetto Masonic Lodge #289 in Sharon, SC.
He is survived by children, Melita Comer (Arnold) of Clayton, GA, Donna McSwain of Clover, Helen Blackwell (Bubba) of Sharon, SC, Cheryl Youngblood of York, SC, Roy McSwain of Sharon, SC, and Cathy Glenn (Gary) of York, SC, sisters, Rae Lewis of Sharon, SC, Nora Parks of Rock Hill, SC, Gladys Willis of Clemmons, NC, Frances Sanders of Sharon, SC, Mary Campbell of Rock Hill, SC, 14 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Donald was preceded in death by brother RY McSwain and sister Ethel Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, 4455 Hoodtown Road, Sharon, SC 29742.
