Harold McCorkle Obituary
September 3, 1931 - July 20, 2022
Rock Hill, South Carolina - Mr. Harold Lee McCorkle, 90, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11:00 am at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2115 Celanese Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 am at the church. Burial will be held following the service at 2:00 pm in West Lawn Memorial Park, 1350 S. Main Street, China Grove, NC 28023.
Mr. McCorkle was born in Rowan County, NC and was the son of the late Clifford Revere McCorkle and the late Edith Mae Yost McCorkle. He was an active member and Lay Leader at Aldersgate UMC and member of the Newport Fire Department. He worked at Celanese for 31 years and was an accomplished Wood Craftsman.
Mr. McCorkle is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty Goodnight McCorkle; daughters, Judy McCorkle Hough (John Martin); Nancy McCorkle Greene (Walt); Mindy McCorkle Carnes (Todd); eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and his brother, Jerry Eugene McCorkle. He was preceded in death by seven siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. McCorkle's name to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
