Chester, South Carolina - Mr. James William Engerson, 83, died Wednesday January 25, 2023 at MUSC Chester. All services will be private. Mr. Engerson was born September 19, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY and was a son of the late William M. Engerson and Esther Freeman Engerson. He was a graduate of the schools of Brooklyn, NY and was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the Air Borne Rangers. Jim was a finance officer for real estate. He was a proud member of Word and Spirit Church. He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Joyce Aydlett Engerson; two sons, Bill Engerson and Steven Engerson; one granddaughter, Angel Lee Engerson; two step-sons, George Graham Brown, Jr. and Scott Allen Brown. Memorials may be made to Word and Spirit Church, 126 York St, Chester, SC 29706. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.barronfuneralhome.com
