Louis Rosso

March 19, 1939 - July 25, 2025

Rock Hill, South Carolina - Louis J. Rosso, 86, passed away peacefully at his home on July 25, 2025.

Louis was born on March 19, 1939, in Lorain, Ohio. A devoted educator and mentor, Louis served as a professor at Winthrop University in the Department of Speech from 1971 until his retirement in 2005. He was honored with the title of Professor Emeritus in recognition of his distinguished career and lasting impact on generations of students and colleagues.

Louis was known not only for his academic excellence, but also for his warmth, humility, and deep commitment to the pursuit of knowledge. His influence extended far beyond the classroom, shaping minds, guiding careers, and inspiring all who knew him.

Louis is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Rosso. He is survived by his granddaughter, Amanda Hardin; along with extended family, former students, and many dear friends who will cherish his memory.

In accordance with his wishes, a private service will be held at a later date.

I´m so sorry for your loss . Dr. Rosso was truly a gifted educator. He had high expectations. He had a gift for being certain we understood and could apply the content. He cared for his students.
