Rock Hill, South Carolina - Mark Alexander Rodman, 56, of Lansing, MI, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 in Rock Hill, SC after battling cancer. Born in Rock Hill, SC on October 18, 1965, Mark was son of Lynda Rodman and the late D. A. Rodman, Jr.
He was a 1983 graduate of Rock Hill High School and a graduate of Winthrop University with a BS and masters in business. He began his career with the city of Rock Hill's PRT department as manager of Cherry Park. Pursuing his passion for history, he continued his education at Cornell University receiving a masters in Historic Preservation Planning. He held several positions in this field including Executive Director of Colorado Preservation, Inc., Operations Manager of Revolution Mill studios in Greensboro, NC, Deputy Director of Historic Preservation for State of Colorado, Executive Director of Michigan Historic Network, and currently was the Michigan State Historic Preservation Officer.
Mark enjoyed hiking, traveling, and exploring the United States, particularly the National Parks. He also enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Colorado Rockies. He truly cared for his family and many friends across the country.
Surviving are his mother; brother Derek Rodman (Donna); nephews, Dustin Rodman (Erin), Daniel Rodman; and great niece, Delainey Rodman. He also was the godfather or "uncle" to many of his friends' children.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, June 19, at 3PM at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel with Rev. Michael Walker officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be private.
The service will be live-streamed at 3PM online at greenefuneralhome.net and will remain online afterwards for those unable to attend.
