Rock Hill, South Carolina - Mike Radl, age 78, passed away after a two year battle with cancer. He was born November 30, 1944, in Madison, Wisconsin to the late Godfrey Radl and Louise "Grace" (Kast) Radl.

After graduating college, Mike embarked on a 50-year career in the paper and paper coating industry that started at Kimberly-Clark in Neenah, WI, and took him to locations in Mississippi, Illinois and finally to Rock Hill, South Carolina where he worked for Rhodia until he retired in 2012.

In 1989 Mike joined the Knights of Columbus, rising to a Fourth Degree member in1991. With a total of 33 years continuous service, he served the organization as an honorary life member. He was a Charter member of Council 15611 St. Martin De Porres. Mike served at the assembly, council and state levels. Throughout the years he contributed in many capacities including Program Director, Hispanic Council Growth Coordinator, State Warden, State Advocate and State Treasurer, to name a few. As a member with regalia, he participated in many scheduled functions, funerals, memorial masses, flag folding ceremonies, bishop visits, and more.

Mike enjoyed giving back to his adopted community in many ways, but he had a special fondness for, and devotion to, the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen where he delivered goods, cooked meals and raised funds. He set the example for all of us.

Mike is preceded in death by his long time companion, Helen Weaver (Rock Hill), and is survived by his three children Michelle (Victor) Heffner (Cleveland, Ohio), Nicole Radl (Appleton, WI), Michael (Ashley) Radl (Neenah, WI), his four grandchildren Danielle, Evan, Michael, and Madelyn; his brother, Paul Radl (Sauk City, WI), his former wife Kathy Radl (Appleton, WI) and many nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed hunting with family at his cabin in northern Wisconsin, learning about his German family ancestry, model railroading, traveling, golf, and playing cards.

A memorial service will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church, Rock Hill, SC, on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mike's memory to Dorothy Days Soup Kitchen (https://dorothydaysoupkitchen.org/) in Rock Hill, SC.
