Richard was a great friend and 'early' real estate partner ('76-'77) ... we had SO MUCH fun riding in the woods with partners Dino Thompson, David Stradinger and Rod Propps as the 'developers' (say WHAT?!!!) of 'The Forest at Briarcliffe' - we were the THEN 'under 30' (Richard & me) "gonna make a bizillion-dollar" boys.
Heck, Richard had Mary Jo ... so he was already rich.
I'll be a Gamecock 'til the day I go, too - but Clemson friends like Richard and Bart Buie have always reminded me that GREAT ones can come from anywhere.
Here's to you, Richard. In your honor - for the 1st time in my life I'm gonna do something I said I would NEVER DO - on Monday night I WILL be pulling for Clemson.
You were a bright light for so many of us who were just piddling around in the dark.
A regular starburst with a laugh that lit up the room. What a beautiful family you managed to co-author. Fella', your heart was as big as a watermelon ... 'ya done good.
