Amy was born Aug. 13, 1966, in South Haven to Ronald and Cynthia (Pence) VanDerZee. She is a 1984 graduate of South Haven High School. After college she followed in her grandfather's footsteps with 36 years in the banking industry, most recently as a branch manager for Horizon Bank. Amy loved helping people with their banking needs. She met her husband of 24 years, Robert "Coho" Lausman, at the bank and at that point was introduced to fishing. Amy was "as good as any man" when it comes to fighting fish. Her weekends were spent on her boat, Coho's Aim! She enjoyed tooling around on her dingy, Coho Aim's Again, with her husband and kids: Stinger and Okuma. One of Amy's bigger fish was a 10-pound, eight-ounce walleye caught on an eight-pound test line in her dingy.
Amy is survived by her husband, Robert A. Lausman; mother Cindy VanDerZee; mother-in-law, Louise Lausman; brother, Jamie VanDerZee; brother-in-law, Theodore (Kristen) Lausman; nephews: Jackson and Tyler VanDerZee; and nieces: Anna and Elizabeth Lausman.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald VanDerZee, and father-in-law, Theodore Lausman.
