David Nathan Simmons II passed away on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023.
David was born on June 17, 1983, to David and Linda (Williams) Simmons.
Growing up, David was always outside whether it was riding dirt bikes, hunting, fishing, swimming or hosting softball games with his sister, cousins and neighbors. Being the oldest, he was looked at as the big brother of the group, a role he was proud to have. David was an artist and an exceptional football player throughout school and helped bring many victories to the Coloma Comets.
After graduating from high school, David became a heavy equipment operator in the oil and gas industry. He had many interests such as gardening, art, tattoos, spirituality and spending time with his loved ones. He especially loved spending time with his circle that consisted of his kids, his sister, his parents and his dear uncle Stan. David was a lover of music with his interests that spanned from heavy metal to pagan music.
He loved his role as a dad and loved his one-on-one time with his kids. He spent much time teaching his kids useful life and survival skills while also making sure they knew how much he loved them. We will miss his big bear hugs, his jokes, his heart to heart, his style and his overall presence.
David is survived by his daughter, Kassidy Simmons, son, Nathan Simmons, sister, Jessica (Lonnie) Simmons, his parents: David and Linda Simmons, his grandmothers: Florene Stevens and Ruea Williams; many aunts and uncles along with many cousins and friends who considered him their brother as well.
He was preceded by his grandfathers: Jerry Stevens and Gene Williams; a grandmother, Pat Simmons, and a very special great-grandmother, Loney Smith.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heritage Chapel & Cremation Services, 8747 U.S. 31, Berrien Springs, MI. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com.

He was one of my favorite people. He taught me so many skills growing up and I was such a daddy´s girl. Wherever he was I was when he was home. He taught me how to hunt, fish and so many more things. I could write a book on him. I was 15 and I always wanted to go to a concert with him so he took me to the rob zombie and Marylin Manson concert. We had practically front row seats and I still listen to those videos to hear his voice and just how happy he truly was. He´s the reason I am named Kassidy because he loved the name. I´ve never felt heart break like that before. I thought I had my entire life with him since he was 19 when he had me. Little did I know that I only lived half his life with him and that´s crazy to me since I´m 21 now.. I love and miss you everyday dad
