Jeffrey David Templeton went to be with his Lord on Nov. 17, 2023, as a result of a traffic accident in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The oldest child of Jeff Sr., and Sue Templeton, he was born in Toledo, Ohio, on May 21, 1981.
He is survived by his parents; sister, Libby Boren (Zack); grandparents: Bill Templeton and Elise Steele; former wife, Mary (Makovic) Templeton-Luhmann (Jeremy), and two children: Mia, 13, and Hans, 11. He also has many surviving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jeff's family was very important to him and his children were the greatest love of his life.
Jeff grew up in the St. Joseph area, and lived in Maumee and Fremont, Ohio, during his childhood.
He was a graduate of Lakeshore High School in Stevensville, Hope College (BS) and Western Michigan University (MBA). He was also a certified public accountant.
As an adult, Jeff lived in Holland, Mich., and the Grand Rapids area. He worked in accounting and finance for Ventura, Inc., Calvin College and was currently employed by VA Enterprises. Jeff's work was very important to him and he took great satisfaction from it.
Jeff attended The Chapel Evangelical Free Church in St. Joseph while growing up and he and Mary were active at Evergreen CRC in Hudsonville for a number of years. Jeff enjoyed all types of music, read widely and enjoyed exercise and the outdoors. Jeff's friends and family knew him as a kind and generous man with a sometimes outrageous sense of humor. He demonstrated his concern for other people by showing a genuine interest in those he met and through service in his community.
Jeff was dearly loved by family and friends and will be missed by many.
A celebration of life service honoring Jeff will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, at The Chapel EFC, 4250 Washington Ave., St. Joseph. Friends may meet with the family from 10-11 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the education fund for Mia and Hans Templeton, checks can be made payable to Michigan Education Savings Program. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
