John Rudolph Obituary

John Rudolph, 72, of Three Oaks passed away on July 1, 2023, in Bradenton, Fla., after a valiant battle with health issues.

John was preceded in death by his parents: Wayne Rudolph and Barbara Gross Rudolph, and his father-in-law, Raymond Davidson.

John is survived by the love of his life, Roxie Davidson, whom he married on Feb. 12, 1970. He is also survived by his children: Jana (Jay) Hancock and David (Jen) Rudolph; grandchildren: Lyon, Rylee, Brock, Carley and Jada; his brother Bill Rudolph and sister Linda Coughlin; brothers-in-law: Mike (Joanie) Davidson, Brad Davidson and Tim Davidson; sister-in-law, Tara (Jim) Dearholt; and many nieces, nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.

Pine Island, Fla., was John and Roxie's winter retreat for the past 32 years. Many new, lifelong friendships were made there.

John was a custom homebuilder for his career, building the home he and Roxie raised their children in and where they still lived. In his free time, John enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, gardening and reading. He cherished time with his family as he was often quoted as saying, "My family is my treasure," as he is ours.

John was a wonderful coach, friend and mentor to many through the years. He was a wise, thoughtful, compassionate, simple and quiet man. He was loved by many.

There will be a celebration of life for John at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Three Oaks American Legion, Post 204. Pastor Rich Zeiger will be officiating the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests for memorials to be made to the Three Oaks American Legion, John was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, or the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, or the River Valley MHS Athletics.

To God be the Glory.

My deepest sympathy to Roxie and all of John's family. Being cousins of about the same age, we would spend a lot of time together whenever my family visited Three Oaks. I have such good memories of him, Linda and Bill that I will always cherish. I will say extra prayers for him.
