Karlis Aldis Barons, 78, died on Nov. 13, 2022, at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Stevensville.
A memorial service was held at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
Karlis was born on July 23, 1944, in Latvia.
Karlis was an English teacher at Schaumburg High School in Illinois. He enjoyed golfing and was a University of Michigan and Chicago Bears football fan.
Survivors include his nieces: Cindy (James Hufft) Janecke and Lisa (Phil) Dumont; great-nephews: Ben and Matthew; and a great-niece: Anna Dumont.
Karlis was preceded in death by his wife, Judy.

Mr. Barons was a legend....I will always remember his booming voice as the PA announcer at home football games firing up the Saxon fans and players. He bought unbridled enthusiasm to the athletic fields and classrooms of Schaumburg High School. RIP big guy, I will see you at the big game pep rally on the other side....

Wonderful memories of Karl´s generous spirit. He was a great cheerleader for the Schaumburg Saxons at the school assemblies. He and Judy will always be remembered fondly by everyone who worked with them.
