Kim M. O'Brien, 55, of Coloma passed away on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, surrounded by her family.
A prayer service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with Kim's family from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Paws of Hope, P.O. Box 13, Stevensville MI 49127. Kim was born on Oct. 29, 1968, to John and Maureen O'Brien in Chicago.
She graduated from Coloma High School.
Kim had a love for gardening and animals. In Kim's spare time she loved going to the beach and looking for beach glass and Petoskey stones. Kim always put others first, with a smile on her face. Her most cherished time was spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren and going on trips with her sisters.
Kim is survived by her children: Ryan (Rachel) Nutting of Ann Arbor and Mollie O'Brien of Coloma; grandchildren: Anders and Lane; siblings: Kelly (Donald) Hambright of Holland, Mich., Theresa (Mike) Wolfe of Middlebury, Ind., Johnette (James) Kurina of Coloma, John (Lisa) O'Brien of New Smyrna, Fla., and Colleen (Brian) Demkovich of Granger, Ind.; numerous nieces and nephews; and significant other, Kevin McGinley.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents: John and Maureen O'Brien.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 556-9450.

I miss you so much everyday, words can't express how much I wish I could still pick up the phone and hear your sweet voice and you always knew what to say no matter what I was going through!! If it wasn't for you, I would not be sober today and I love you so much and thank you so much for all of your unconditional love & support!! You were the only one that stood right by side, literally, and believed in me when no one else did!!!
