Michael Hammer Obituary
Michael Anthony Hammer Sr., 62, of Bridgman passed away on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph.
You are invited to join together for a gathering of family and friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Pike Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, MI 49106, with a time of remembrance at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
Michael "Hammer" was born on Dec. 26, 1961, in Concord, Calif., the son of Hans and Ruth (Dodson) Hammer.
On Aug. 9, 1980, he married the former Dawn Yerke.
He was a millwright and retired from Bosch Braking Systems. Hammer enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, walking the beach looking for glass, and doing word search and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Dawn; his children: Michael (Ann Orr) Hammer Jr., and Jessica (Johnny Ziemba) Hammer; one grandson, Kaleb Ziemba; his mother, Ruth Hammer; two sisters: Anne (Richard DeLuna) Hammer and Tina (James) Sargent; one brother, Mark (Linda) Hammer; and his faithful K-9 companion, Phoebe.
Hammer was preceded in death by his father, Hans Hammer.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman.

I knew Mike for over 40yrs. I will miss our summer motorcycle rides and eating sunflower seeds at the river. We rode our motorcycles to the blessing of the bikes in Baldwin Michigan. Memories I will never forget. My friend I will never forget. We worked together at Bendix. We were both machines repairs.
