Nancy J. Cubbage of Coloma passed away at home on Aug. 18, 2025, at the age of 87, after battling cancer.
Nancy was born in Marshfield, Wis., on March 9, 1938, to her parents Ray and Adiline Borens who predeceased her.
She is survived by her husband, William "Bill"; sons: Scott (Linda), Eric, Todd (Dawn) and John; grandchildren: Bethany, Kendra (Ruben) and Uri; Craig (Ruby) and Dana (Michael) and Trevor; great-grandchildren, Kane, Josie and Jaric, Theo, Diego and Rolando.
Nancy and Bill were married on May 15, 1965, in Marshfield and spent 60 beautiful years together.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: John, Gerrie, Peter and Trudi.
Nancy was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the anchor of her family and her kitchen the heart of her home. She enjoyed cooking and trying out new recipes for her family to try. Nancy also enjoyed reading and knitting.
Nancy worked as a teacher's aid for 27 years at Coloma's Washington Elementary School. Nancy's love of children extended beyond her immediate family in helping nurture and guide other children and to offer a supportive hand in the children's education.
Nancy will be missed and remembered as a remarkable person whose life was a testament to the power of love, the importance of family and the lasting impact one person can have on another.
Nancy will be laid to rest in North Shore Memory Gardens. A private service and burial will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Society, Hospice of Berrien County and to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
