Robert Opande Obituary
Robert Travon "Lil Rob" Opande, 21, of Benton Harbor departed this life on Jan. 30, 2022.
A service celebrating his life will be Feb. 25, at the Pentecostal Apostolic Faith Peace Temple, Benton Harbor. The visitation begins at 10 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m.

Robert was born on Sept. 17, 2000, to Keesha Jones and Robert Opande and graduated from Bridge Academy in 2018.
He attended Reed Temple as a child and continued his faith at the Pentecostal Apostolic Faith Peace Temple alongside his mother. He loved working as a manager of Slumberland Furniture to help provide for his son.
Robert enjoyed football and spending time with his son. He strived to be the best father, brother and uncle to his family. He liked to dress up and was known as the life of the party.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his son: Robert "R.J." Opande Jr., mother, Keesha Jones; father, Robert Opande; grandmother, Joyce Jones (Michael) Smith; grandfather, Daniel Opande; great-grandparents: Pastor and Mother Black; sisters: Ieasha Jones, Kendasha Bates, Dakeesha Jones, and Tiesha Cathan; brother: Kevon Opanda and Tristian Cathan; a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, godsisters, godbrothers, family and friends.
Robert was proceeded in death by his grandfather, Ernest Battles; grandmother, Rose Atimo; great-grandmother, Mattie Nelson; great-grandfather, Eddie Lee Jones; great-aunt, Artissua Butler; great-uncle, Danny Jones; alternative godmother, Tiffany Rodger; and special aunt, Angeline Zinn.
