Sherrell Dontae C. Walker, 47, of Benton Harbor passed away on Feb. 6, 2023, at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville.
A celebration of life service will be on Friday, March 3, at New Bethel Baptist Church, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. followed by services at 11 a.m. Those wishing to sign guest book may do so at robbinsbrothersfh.com.
Sherrell was born April 8, 1978, to L.C. and Betty Walker at Mercy Hospital, Benton Harbor.
Sherrell was a 1995 graduate of Adams High School, South Bend, Ind. In 1996, he became a student at Notre Dame University. Sherrell's excellent basketball skills were unbeatable and was displayed as he won the Basketball Dunk Contest many times!
His joy in life was his family ... especially his three grandchildren, and then "his basketball!"
His employment career was always with some form of maintenance and sheet metal, as he excelled in this area as well. Sherrell formed many friendships throughout his schooling and employment – too many to note but he loved each and every one of them.
Sherrell is survived by his parents: L.C. and Betty Walker; his children: Chyrell, Tyrrelle and Tra'Velle; three grandchildren: Ja'Chya Washington, Brooklyn Walker, and Can'Trelle Walker; one brother, Antiono Walker; and four sisters: Felicia Williams, Shawntell Hall, Leticia (Shamon) Rivera, and Katrinis Walker.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, and his beloved brother, Jermaine Walker.
