Betty Murphrey Obituary
May 12, 1940 - January 25, 2023
Wendell, North Carolina - Betty Lou Andrews Murphrey, 82, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023. She was born May 12, 1940 in Johnston County to the late Robert Lee Andrews and Lela Brannan Andrews. Betty graduated from Corinth Holders High School in 1958 and attended Kings Business College. Betty was faithful to her family and friends and most of all to her Lord and Savior. A beautiful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many will be greatly missed.
The family will receive relatives and friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2023 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale and other times at the home. A Service to Celebrate her Life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Central Baptist Church, 11109 Poole Rd, Wendell, NC. A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 30, 2023 at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harvey Hurron Murphrey; daughter, Tracey M. Lozares (Reymond); son, Britt E. Murphrey (Wendy); grandchildren; Angela Perry (Joshua), Amy Morgan (Grant), Graham Murphrey (Megan), Walker Murphrey, Cary Lozares; great-grandchildren; Spencer Peedin, Evan Peedin, Jade Perry; brothers; Harold Andrews; and a host of special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers; Billy Andrews and Willard Andrews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church. Condolences to the family may be sent to poolefuneral.com under Tributes.
