June 28, 1949 - January 12, 2025
Wilson, North Carolina - Joan Robinson Christakis, 75 of Wilson, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025.
Mrs. Christakis is survived by her husband, Ernest "Chris" Christakis; daughter, Kristin Sexton, her husband Adam, and their two children, Radley and Livia; and brother, Dana Robinson, his wife Kerry, and their three children: Ainsley, Devin, and Trent, all of Rochester, NH.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 18th, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2615 Tilgham Rd, Wilson, from 12:00- 1:45pm. The funeral will begin at 2pm, and interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, with Bishop Matt Criswell officiating.
Mrs. Christakis was a kindergarten teacher for most of her career, and taught at Winstead Elementary and Greenfield School, as well as the daycare at Salvation Army years before.
Although she was a mother of one, her life long association with children allowed her to have an influence on people in Wilson more than anyone.
She leaves behind a hole in the hearts of her family and friends that will be hard to fill, and will be greatly missed.
