Jonah Whitt Walker
July 16, 1939 - July 15, 2022
Hillsborough, North Carolina - Jonah Whitt Walker, age 82, passed away on Friday July 15, 2022 at his home. He was born in Roxboro, North Carolina, the son of the late John Henry and Shirley Mooney Walker. He graduated from Helena High School in Roxboro, North Carolina. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. He was employed by P.E.M.C. for forty-two years.
Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Nell Walker; his children, Charles, (Jennifer and Benjamin) Tim, (Jennifer, Mollie and Maggie) and Elizabeth Boozer (Beau and Stella); and his sister Sherrill Duncan (Glenn).
Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Daniel Gregory. Burial will follow in the Mooney Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-7:30PM Sunday at the Brooks & White Chapel and at other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Luther Wells, Tommy Frazier, Gene Deitz, Robert Cox, Wesley Morris, and Glenn Duncan. Honorary pallbearers will be Malcolm Mangum, Rocky Murray, Robert Long, Ronald Long, Randy Burkett, Dan Williams and Chun Duncan.
