Kenneth Martin Obituary
June 21, 1942 - June 2, 2022
Durham, North Carolina - Kenneth Marion Martin (79), of Durham, passed away on June 3, 2022 at the Duke Hock Pavilion. Born in Durham County he was the son of the late John Reese Martin and Ollie Pipkin Martin. Ken was predeceased by two brothers, Jack R. Martin of Hillsborough and Eugene (Gene) Martin of Durham.
Kenneth graduated from NC State University with a BS in Math and served 7 years in the United States Army.
Ken was the owner of Durham Auto Body for 16 years. After retirement he was a substitute teacher at Voyager Academy in Durham and Eno River Academy in Hillsborough.
Survived by his wife of 34 years, Cindy "CC" Cook-Martin; three children: Zack R. Martin of Greensboro, Page B. Martin of Raleigh, Austin Kale Martin of Durham and a step-daughter, Brande Collins Perry of Roxboro. Two "adopted" sons: Phillip Freeman of Charlotte and Wyatt Kimbrough of Wilmington. He was a caring, generous father and a kind and loving husband.
There will be a Celebration of Life with arrangements to be determined at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Duke Hospice.

Sure miss talking to Ken. He had a way of lifting your spirits and seemed to genuinely care about you . That is what a real friend does for you .

I am riding from Roxboro to Durham on 15/501 and thinking about my friend, lunch buddy, tennis partner, mentor, fellow adjuster, Mr. Ken. For some reason I thought to check the obit versus calling. I wish I could have one more lunch. So very sorry Cindy.
