Durham
Theresa Rasfeld Wiethe, 86, died peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 16th at Brookdale Senior Living Center. She was born in the St. Bernard part of Cincinnati, Ohio on May 14th 1932, the daughter of William H. and Rose Karle Rasfeld.
Theresa graduated from Our Lady of the Angels High School in St. Bernard, then got a teaching degree in Cincinnati. She moved to Durham in 1955, taught at Immaculata School for 2 years and then worked at Duke University for almost 40 years, retiring as the administrative coordinator of the Medical Library. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, the Durham PEO chapter, the Duke Learning in Retirement program, and 50 plus. She loved to read, travel, work at the Duke Children's Classic, and attend Duke basketball and Durham Bulls games.
Theresa is survived by sons, Louis H. Wiethe III and Robert W. Wiethe (Mary Jane); brother, Joe Rasfeld; sister, Vera Tucker; and a large extended family, all of whom she loved greatly.
The visitation will be Monday, Oct 22nd at 5:00-7:00 p.m. The Funeral at will be Tuesday, Oct 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, Immaculate Conception Church, or Avila Retreat Center, where she volunteered often.

Terry was one of the first few people I met when we moved to Durham, NC. She was a warm and lovely person with a strong presence everywhere she went. Her son and dtr. in-law embodied her values of giving and service. We will surely miss you around here, Terry. God be with you!

Terry was a wonderful person and had a great attitude and a lot of vim and vigor. She was passionate and caring, full of love and laughter. Terry was the best person to go to a Durham Bulls game, as she knew all the stats and all the chants! Terry was a great volunteer and had contagious enthusiasm for helping others. She loved her family, and was a good and faithful servant and friend. The world is a better place because Terry shared her joy and passion with and for others. She will surely be missed.
