Dear Aunt Nancy, Armand, Mitchell and Family,
We were very saddened to hear of Uncle Stephen's passing, and sorry we missed seeing him and Aunt Nancy in Sanibel this past October. I have always enjoyed his company from the times as kids when we would see his black Chevy parked in front of our house in Sayreville as he would always stop for a visit on his way home from Fort Dix or Fort Monmouth when he was in the Army. Sitting around the dining room table with my Mom and sometimes Uncle Sonny, draining endless cups of coffee, enjoying each other's company and just chatting about life were some of the best memories of my childhood.. He had a wonderful, refined sense of humor, and was one of my early family role models who inspired me to go to college and get an advanced education. I'm surprised he didn't kill my brothers and me for trashing his room all the many times we went to have dinner with Aunt Henty and Uncle Mando, but we were bored little kids and he had all manner of cool stuff that kept us amused! After we moved to California, Uncle Stephen would always take the time to visit with us at our house in Long Beach and later Westminster during his business trips to Anaheim. It meant a lot to us to see family, as we were the only ones out here. It was great to see him and Aunt Nancy in Sanibel the last few years sharing family stories, some of which we'd never shared together before. His presence in our family will always be missed, but he will live on in our hearts forever. God bless all of you. God bless you Uncle Stephen, see you on the other side!
Sincerely,
Nicky, Joan, and Catherine McLachlan

Dad
We are very glad that you didn't suffer but I can't believe that you are gone. The numb and empty feeling I have will be with me for a very long time. You have left your mark in this world and have touched many people. You were a great husband, father and grandfather. We all loved you very much. I will miss our talks and the weekly jokes. I love you and will miss you. Armand
