Arthur Purkis Obituary
Sept. 13, 1914 - April 20, 2007
Arthur Purkis, 92, Venice, formerly of Saginaw, Mich., died April 20, 2007.
A celebration of life will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at his home, 1021 Deer Run, Venice. National Cremation Society, Sarasota chapter, handled arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane of Beulah, Mich.; a sister, Ruth Hewitson of Burlington, Ontario, and his good friend Fran Squires.
He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Bea, of Saginaw.
What people will remember most about Ted was his sense of humor, the extent of his ability to fix anything, and his kindness to others. Donations in Ted's memory may be directed to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, c/o Recorder, 600 N. Beneva Road, Sarasota, FL 34232.

Ted has been one of my very best friends for 17 years, and a finer gentleman and friend will be hard to find. So, thanks, Ted, for all the good conversations; The great projects (mostly successful and some questionable); the help when I needed parts made; and mostly the happy "Hi, Dave" every day.
