Barbara Negus, age 86 of Sarasota, FL, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Oct 23rd, 2018. Raised in Rockville Center, NY, Barbara resided on Long Island where she enjoyed a successful career as an opera singer. Moving to Sarasota Fl, with her husband Alan Negus in 1978, Barbara continued her love of music through her work with the Sarasota Opera, Gloria Musicae, and various local charitable organizations. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Alan Negus and survived by her sister Betty Heckel, her 4 children Brenda Reinhard, Kenneth Deneau, John Deneau and Barbara Deneau, her 3 grandchildren Craig Reinhard, Kevin Reinhard, and Jarett Deneau, and her beloved dog Tai Tai.
Services will be held at 11:30 AM at the Church of the Redeemer 222 S Palm Ave Sarasota, FL on Jan 12th, 2018. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you Barbara for all the love and music you have shared with so many. God Bless You, Rest in Peace and Love, You are forever in our hearts.
