Mary Kifer Obituary

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at Hokes Bluff Cemetery for Mary Gwen Kifer, 68, Hokes Bluff, who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017. The Rev. Ernest Mote will officiate. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery is in charge of the service.
Mrs. Kifer was a dispatcher at Austin Transportation for many years. She loved arts and crafts and crocheting. She was an avid Alabama football fan. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hokes Bluff.
She is preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Ruby Morris; and brothers, Buddy and Roy Dale Morris.
She is survived by her daughter, DeAnna (Jerry) Turner; grandchildren, Casey, Jessica and Josh; great-grandchildren, Brodie, Hayden and Ellie; sister, Elaine Spurlock; brothers, Joe (Lynda) Morris, Jerry (Pam) Morris, Ray (Jane) Morris and Charles (Patty) Morris; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Marlion Morris; chosen sister, Lisa Lanning; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Becky Lowman, Priscilla Barnes, Carol Hanna, Peggy Franklin and Ray Campbell.
Special thanks to her sister, Jane Morris, for all of her help; Alacare Hospice, and especially Casey, Lori and Brittany, and Dr. Deborah Reiland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the First Baptist Church of Hokes Bluff.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
