Dylan Gonzalez, age 23, passed away June 19, 2016, as the result of a tragic boating accident while on a fishing trip in the vicinity of Boca Grande. Dylan was born December 30, 1992 in Sarasota FL, the son of Michael and Kathy Kelly of Port Charlotte, Florida, and a graduate of Port Charlotte High School, Class of 2011 and graduated as Auto Technician from Sarasota County Vo-Tech as well.
He was an avid fisherman and was most happy on the Port Charlotte Harbor waterways fishing for any and all types of fish located in these waters. His dream was to catch a Juvenile Tarpon, which was done on this fishing trip. Dylan was also a trained auto mechanic and enjoyed working on his own vehicles as well as friends.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Kathy Kelly, Port Charlotte, FL; Lindsey Peyton, girlfriend, of Englewood, FL; half-sisters Tara Renaud, Deidre Jones, and Eliana Gonzalez along with 1 nephew and 3 nieces; His Uncle Dave Hayden and Aunt Sherry Hayden, of Centralia, WA; Grandparents, Gil and Martha Thiel, of Venice, FL; Bob and Claire Kelly of Punta Gorda, FL; along with many other friends; he was predeceased by Grandmother, Bobbie Thiel, formerly of Venice, FL. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 1:00pm on June 24 at First Baptist Church, 312 Miami Ave. in Venice, FL. Pastor Tom Hodge will officiate. Toale Brothers Funeral Homes, Ewing Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
