Jack Handler Obituary

Jack Handler age 90 passed away under the care of Tidewell Hospice House in Sarasota. Jack was a native of Sarasota, graduating from Sarasota High School in 1949. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1953 with a BS in Business/ Economics. He served as a Lieutenant in the Navy for 3 years before returning back home. He lived in Sarasota until 1985 and then moved to Englewood where he enjoyed spending his days boating and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Phyllis and he will be lovingly remembered by their son, Jeff Handler and their daughter Jill Handler Grens (Chris). He was also preceded in death by his second wife Peggy and lovingly remembered by his stepdaughters Desi Murphy and Kellie Bollettieri and their children and grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at the Sarasota National Cemetery on Tuesday May 4, 2021 at 11:00 am.
Donations in his memory can be made to Tidewell Hospice Foundation, 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, Florida 34238.

Being a native Sarasotan, I knew Jack all my life. Knew his parents, knew Peggy. I worked for Jack, at Public Finance until they sold to Mellon Finance and he retired. Many, many laughs we shared together, stories of old Sarasota and fishing. I was blessed to have had his presence in my life.
May the family find peace and comfort in all your memories. My thoughts, love and prayers are with you. Jack had a good life, and for that you’re all blessed.
