Janet Frake Obituary

Frake, Janet Gregory
Jul. 29, 1960 - Jun. 11, 2012
Janet Gregory Frake, 51, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, died on Jun. 11, 2012.
Janet was a graduate of Bowling Green University. She worked in the hospitality industry for many years before becoming a Realtor over 10 years ago. Janet's smile was so beautiful, when she laughed, you laughed with her. Janet loved animals, country music, spending time on her boat, fishing and watching the sunset. She won many awards for her expert fishing skills. She enjoyed many trips to Pine Island. Janet also loved to meet new people and have a great time. Janet and Bo would plan many BBQ parties at her home and everyone would truly enjoy themselves. She was very selfless and would help anyone in need. Janet was a member of The Moose Lodge on 17th Street, The Eagles and The Elks. Diagnosed with throat cancer Janet had many treatments and surgeries during the past three years. Her inner strength, courage and determination are truly an inspiration to all who knew her. She never complained and she was determined to beat the cancer.
Janet is survived by her nieces, Kristen and Kara Minor of Winter Park, Florida, her companion Bo of 10 years who stayed by her side during the trips and stays at Moffitt in Tampa, her dog Jake, her cat Garfy, her brother-in-law Mike Minor and many, many friends. A special thank you to friend Jan Hall who was Janet's caregiver until the end and Helen Daruszka also a special friend. She is predeceased by her parents Amos and Jean Gregory, her sister Susan Gregory Minor and her brother Danny.
There will be no services. A celebration of Janet's life will be at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society of Sarasota and the American Red Cross in her honor. Toale Brothers is in charge.

I lost touch with Janet many years ago, and only recently learned of her passing.
Janet was a kind and caring person, and a good friend.

There is an old saying: A person dies twice. The first time is when they take their last breath, the second is the last time someone mentions their name.

Although my memory post here is so very late, I hope it serves to keep Janet's name alive for much longer.

Bo,
You are in my thoughts & prayers every day. Janet loved you very much no matter what. Janet was a unique person who I am proud to call my friend. She definitely was family and I loved her. She would make me laugh even when she was in pain. We have another angel amongst us and she will suffer no more. May the memories of Janet sustain you during this difficult time. Hugs to Jake and Garfy!

Janet and I were friends in high school, cheerleaders together. She was so athletic and smart and CONFIDENT! I was everything but those things. She took me under her wing anyway. Our families both vacationed in Myrtle Beach one year for Spring Break and I followed her around like a puppy dog. Everywhere she went, her smile and laugh attracted people. I'm sorry that we let "life" get in the way of staying in touch. I know that she is so happy to be reunited with her family. She was a dynamo. Thanks Janet, for being my friend when I really needed one.

Bo and Janet, never one without the other. Now one has left and one day, the other will follow. There is a great void on the earth and you left us Janet. We all know you are at peace and that is what gives us strength. You are deeply loved and I hope knowing you has given us all a lesson in life. How to live through your heart as that is just what you did. Missing you and that special smile and laugh......always......Much Love and Prayers to both you and Bo!! Dave and Diane Wilson
