Jean Marguerite Prescott died Dec. 5, 2007.
Services will be Saturday in Fayetteville, N.C. Rogers and Breece Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jean Marguerite Prescott died in Fayetteville, N.C., on, Dec. 5, 2007 after a series of debilitating strokes.
She was born July 8, 1916, in Binghamton, N.Y., to Arthur Wayland and Ester Hart Prescott.
She graduated in 1938 form Tusculum college in Tennessee, attending on a scholarship for her proficiency in dance. Miss Prescott whistled professionally with big bands that visited Binghamton.
She retired in 1980 after 35 years of working as a supervisor in the business office of NY Telephone Co. in Binghamton. She and her sister, Phyllis Haynes (1915-2005), moved to Sarasota, where Jean was active in the Bell Pioneers as a lifetime member and president for several years.
Jean is survived by her nephew, retired Colonel Kenneth N. Haynes and Valerie Haynes, of Fayetteville; her two grand-nieces, Wendy Haynes LaFever and Robyn Joanna Haynes of Arlington, Va., and Fuqua-Varina, N.C.; and her cousin, Edward Hart of Snohomish, Wash.
Jean will be interred in her family plot in Vestal, N.Y., on Tuesday.

I am sorry for your loss. Jean was my supervisor for years at the telephone company in Binghamton. I didn't know she was in my area now. My thoughts are with you.
