John Buck Obituary

John Eugene Buck, 85, Greenville, S.C., and formerly of Bradenton Missionary Village, died Jan. 27, 2006, in Greenville Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1920, in Star City, Ind., and moved to Bradenton in 1985 from Columbus, Ohio. He was a home missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship and Children for Christ for 30 years. He graduated from Bob Jones University in Greenville in 1949. He served as a water tender in the Navy aboard the USS Tennessee during World War II. He was a member of Community Baptist Church in Oneco. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Ruth (Lautzenheiser); a son, Philip of Candler, N.C.; and four grandchildren. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the mausoleum chapel at Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto. Bradenton Funeral Home is in charge.
