John Carsello of Sarasota, Florida passed away at Tidewell Hospice House in Sarasota, Florida on August 15, 2016, at the age of 80 after a long illness.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Rose (Greco). They were married in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 22, 1964.
John is lovingly remembered by his wife, Rose of Sarasota and survived by his two children; a daughter, Christina of Sarasota, Fl. and a son Jeffrey (Carrie) of Albany, NY. John had five granddaughters; Sierra, Kaitlyn, Amanda, Emily, and Samantha; a sister Roseanne and the rest of his family and friends.
John was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 25, 1935. He graduated from Boch Vocational High School continued to earn a bachelor degree with the distinct honor of magna cum laude from Bloomfield College. John enjoyed science, demonstrated early on with a career as a lab technician. However, his sharp intellect and desire to learn directed him to enter the pharmaceutical industry. He rapidly emerged as an expert in pharmaceutical regulatory affairs. His career in the pharmaceutical industry spanned over 40 years. After retiring, John continued to work as a substitute teacher within the Sarasota County School District where the students affectionately called him Mr. C.
John enjoyed life, his family, woodworking, reading, and collecting art and antiques.
The funeral service, to celebrate his life is to be held at St. Martha's Catholic Church, 200 N. Orange Ave. Sarasota, Florida on September 3rd, 2016 at 1 pm. A private reception with friends and family will occur afterward.
Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5957 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34238.
