Joseph G. Fitzgerald, 84, of Sarasota died June 6, 2011.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home in Sarasota. Services will be graveside at 10 a.m. Saturday at Palms-Robarts Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; sons Kevyn, Kerry, and Kent; sister Mary Healey; and two grandchildren.
Joseph owned and operated Fitzgerald Family Reality for over 20 years. He was a devoted member of Incarnation Catholic Church in Sarasota.

The memories I have of Joe are very personal, I loved Joe, I loved to visit with him when I lived in Sarasota. His booming voice at the football games was inspirational and always made me stand a little taller and play a little louder. Phyllis, Kevyn, Kerry, Kent, your dear husband and father will be greatly missed but he is with God now. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Just learned about Uncle Joe and was sad to hear. He and Aunt Phyl had one lovely, long courtship! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you over the years and across the miles. Love Kelly

Kevyn, So sorry to hear of your loss! I appreciated your parents so much and all they did for us while we were in the Kilties! "Mr. and Mrs. Fitz" were both so much fun! I've seen them around town once in a while and they are quick with a smile and a chat! God bless your family as you go through this difficult time.

Phyllis and Family:
Please accept our condolonces in the passing of your husband and father, Joe Fitzgerald. What a wonderful person he was. He was so outstanding in all that he did and the Ram Bowl project was surely one of the great things he was involved with. I will always remember him and consider him as one of my outstanding friends. He was a good guy and so caring.

I (Maggie Burns) remember Joe and especially Phyllis from Riverview . Hugh continues sharing school district memories with Kevin.
Kevin, be assured that Maggie and I will remember you and your family at Mass. I hope there will be a celebration of his life Mass at Incarnation in the future. If we are in town, we'll be there. Otherwise we will celebrate his life at Mass as Kevin does every day in his example for his students.
