Lucien Levy Obituary
Dec. 21, 1923 - Nov. 13, 2009
Lucien I. Levy, 85, of Longboat Key,
passed away Friday, Nov. 13, at home after a long and painful illness endured with courage. He was formerly of New York City, Lausanne, Switzerland, and Cairo.
He was dear husband to his devoted wife, Elvire; loving father of Michele and Christian Spycher, Roland Levy and his wife Barbara; adoring grandfather of Alec, Tessa and Violette.
He was predeceased by his grandson Billy. He leaves behind his brother, Andre Levy, and his sister, Nelly Olsburgh from Switzerland, and their respective families, as well as the wife of his predeceased brother James.
He was a successful real estate developer and an unconditional philanthropist. His generosity, sincerity and integrity will always remain an inspiration to us.
Services will be held at Toale Brothers Chapel, 40 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, followed by a burial at the Temple Beth Sholom Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering or Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota Foundation Inc.

Lucien winked at me as he asked for his "Good Guy" discount. Who could resist his charm, humor & personality. I enjoyed his banter and his timely advise. I often discribed him as an "Old World Polite Gentleman" with twinkling eyes. My condolences to the family. Farewell my friend, may God give you the Good Guy discount too.
