Marion W. Gager, 89, passed away Nov. 19, 2012 at Mark Manor, Village on the Isle, Venice, FL. She was born in Hardwick, VT on June 2, 1923. Marion graduated from Farmington State College in 1945. She was married to Homer D. Gager on June 25, 1945. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2003. Marion was a high school Home Economics teacher in Brunswick, OH for 15 years. She retired to Florida in 1983. She was a member of the Venice Nokomis United Methodist Church and volunteered here in Venice for many years. Marion loved to garden, play cards and quilt. She is survived by her children; Joanne Pye of Chittenden, VT, David Gager of Falmouth, MA, Allen Gager of Long Beach, CA and Mary Cawthorne of Osprey. Marion is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Marion was preceded in death by her brother; Norman Webster, her sister Marguerite Mears and her grandson Jason Bender. Memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
