Michael Abitabilo Obituary

Michael Abitabilo, 94, Wilmington, N.C., and formerly of Port Charlotte, died Feb. 20, 2005, at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove in Wilmington. He was born March 13, 1910, in New York City. He retired from Western Union and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wilmington, N.C. Survivors include a son, Neil Robert of Wilmington; a daughter, Carol Patricia Ast of Ithaca, N.Y.; three brothers; one sister; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington, N.C. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 6650 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington, N.C. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 714 Champ Davis Road, Wilmington, NC 28411.
