Richard Stehle Obituary

Stehle, Richard H. Sr.
July 26, 1924 - Oct. 20, 2010

Richard "Dick" Stehle Sr., 86, of Sarasota, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010.
Dick was born and brought up on Long Island, N.Y. He moved his family to Sarasota from Long Island in 1970. It was in 1972 that Dick and his sons co-founded their Sarasota-based air conditioning firm, Climatic Conditioning Co. Inc., that is still owned and operated by the Stehle family today. Dick was a true craftsman, an astute businessman and a superb mentor. All will remember him for his quick wit and great sense of humor. When not working, he was an avid golfer and a former member of Palm Aire Country Club. He will surely be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; sons Richard (Deborah) and Paul (Patricia) Stehle, both of Sarasota; daughters Nancy (Glenn) Hudson of Bradenton and Maryann (Chuck) Diggs of Lakeland; stepsons Shawn and Shane (Vicki) Bingham, both of Bradenton; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Richard "Dick" Stehle was a veteran of World War II. He will be buried at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, where there will be a private family service.

A memorable day in our life was when smiling Dick Stehle became our neighbor in the late '60s. He and his buoyant family brought new life to Waverley Street and we will always fondly remember him. Sincerely,
June and Jack Shea

Our deepest condolences over the passing of your father. We are truly shocked and saddened. We have great memories of his humor, his "business" side and his love for his family. He was definitely one of a kind!

Dick was such a special guy. He was so proud of his family, and was always interested in hearing about your family, and would remember all the details, which he would ask about, next time he saw you. Weather he was telling you a tale of history, or leading you down the path of a joke with a straight face, or giving you his opinion on where the world is going (straight to), you were mesmerized and hanging on every word. We all have visions, and sounds, and remembrances of Dick that keep him alive in our hearts. Our sincere condolences go out to the Stehle family at this difficult time. His passing is a loss to all who were lucky enough to know him.
