February 7, 1943 - August 25, 2016
Robert H. Mitchell (Bob) died at his home in Sarasota, FL on Aug 25, 2016 with his family by his side, after an extended battle with stomach cancer. He was 73.
Born Feb 7, 1943 in Newark, NJ, only child of Margarette (Frunzi) Mitchell. He grew up in West Orange, NJ, graduated from West Orange High School in '61. He received his undergraduate ('65) & master's ('67) from Seton Hall University, served in the US Army abroad then received his law degree ('76) from Seton Hall Law School. He married Maryann (Petriella) Mitchell on June 4, 1966 in Irvington, NJ. They relocated to Sarasota, FL in 1981 with their two sons.
Bob leaves behind his wife Maryann, sons Mike (Colleen) of Brandon, FL and Bobby of St. Petersburg, FL. Granddaughter Maddie & step-granddaughter Kailene Quinn of Sarasota, FL.
Bob is remembered for his love of family, great friendships, great singing voice, his sense of humor, and his giving spirit. He was a proud member of the Lakewood Ranch Rotary Club, the Tampa Bay Heralds of Harmony, the Sarasota Chorus of the Keys, and he was the founder of the Miracle League of Manasota.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Sep 2, 2016, 6PM, Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 40 N Orange Ave, Sarasota, FL 34236. www.toalebrothers.com
