Ruth Shue Obituary

Shue, Ruth
Sep. 14, 1926 - Apr. 8, 2013
Ruth Shue was born in Archbold, OH on September 14, 1926, to the late Silas and Sarah Liechty. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, April 8, 2013, while surrounded by her family at her home.
Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Charles Shue. She is survived by her six children, Richard (Jolene), Larry, Michael (Karen), Jeanie (Scott) Kauffman, Sue Ellen (Conrad) Penner and Janet Shue all of Sarasota. She has seven grandchildren, Zachary (Megan) Shue, Benjamin, Sarah, Rachel and Elizabeth Kauffman, Jordan and Madison Penner; one great grandson, Joshua Shue and two brothers, Jesse and Richard Liechty of Indiana. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mildred Graber, Delilah Seiler and Mary Stuckey and her brothers, Simon, Omer and Rueben Liechty.
Ruth was instrumental in starting Sarasota Christian School. She could always be found helping out, wherever needed, in the early days of the school. She was a faithful member of Bahia Vista Mennonite Church and served on the food service team. She was a homemaker and was known for her organization, hospitality and wonderful meals. She had a generous heart and loved being with family and friends. Ruth will be missed, but we look forward to being with her again in heaven.
Visitation at Bahia Vista Mennonite Church will be Friday, April 19th from 5-8 pm, and Saturday, April 20th from 1-2 pm, with a funeral service to follow at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Arrangements by Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Sarasota Christian School at 5415 Bahia Vista Street, Sarasota, FL 34232.
