Shirley Kezirian Obituary
March 22, 2018
Formerly of Providence, R.I. died peacefully at Tidewell Hospice, Sarasota. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Mitchell Kezirian, her parents, Jean & Nelson Hodgins, of London, Ontario, Canada. and her step-daughter Valerie. Survived by her close companion of recent years Gerald B. Murfitt of Orillia, Ontario, brothers Howard and Ivan Hodgins, of London and Ottawa, Ontario respectively. Step-children, the Rev. Jennifer West(Ben West), Wayne M. Kezirian(Elizabeth nee Paroli) of Cranston R.I. and Guy M. Kezirian(Mary nee Keefe) of Scottsdale, AZ. She was devoted to many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and God-children. Shirley retired as a Senior Executive Vice President with Metropolitan Insurance with whom she moved from London to Ottawa, Ontario and Rhode Island. Shirley was an accomplished singer and sang with the Sweet Adelines. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Providence and the Church of the Redeemer in Sarasota. Shirley moved to Sarasota 4 years ago. The funeral service has taken place at St. Martin's Providence and burial in the family plot at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Friends and family who are interested in remembering Shirley with a charitable gift are invited to make a contribution in her name to a charity of their choosing.

Shirley was a very special friend to Leo and I. She was a kind and thoughtful person. She and Mitch had a wonderful life together. Our love goes to her family and her close friend and companion, Jerry. We will truly miss her. Heaven just became a better place.

I have such fond memories of Shirley while working at Met in the early days(1975). She always made sure that I was able to have time with my young daughter, Jen, and was always so kind to us both. It was so obvious that she loved children. When loved ones pass it is the memories we have that keep them dear in our hearts. My sincere condolences to the family.
