Evelyn Greashaber Obituary

GREASHABER, EVELYN GRACE; died peacefully in Respite At the Beach in Virginia Beach, Virginia; on May 27, 2011. She was the beloved mother of Barbara Malam, Diane McGaw and Donna Edmonds; grandmother of Donald and Bryan Edmonds, Kyle and Ashley McGaw, Joseph and Leah Malam; and great grandmother of Ella and Holly Edmonds and Valerie Edmonds. She was born on January 12, 1923 in Lancaster Pennsylvania, where she lived until she enlisted in the Navy during World War II where she met her husband, Don. Following her discharge she lived in Lincoln Park and Southgate, Michigan with her husband where they raised their family. He preceded her in death in 2000. Both she and her husband had careers at JL Hudsons, now the Target Corporation. She moved to Virginia Beach in 2003, and died on May 27, 2011 at the age of 88 of natural causes. A Memorial Service will be held for Evelyn surrounded by her daughters and family on July 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Woodside II Mausoleum at Michigan Memorial Park, 32163 Huron River Drive where she will be interned next to her husband. Immediately following, a gathering in remembrance of her life will be held at the Robert H Jones Knights of Columbus on Outer Drive, Lincoln Park, Michigan. Donations may be made to VFW Post 16200 Dix-Toledo, Southgate Michigan.
