First of all, as a first cousin of Mary Terese Fleszar, I am so very grateful to Larry for his work in getting John Norman Collins off the streets and in prison where he belongs. I am so glad that the Channel 2 special story was done recently when Larry could still be on it, and his story be told as well.
Secondly, we got to know Larry when he was our CPA for many years!
Our deepest sympathy to his family. May your memories of him be a comfort to all of you during this difficult time.

I first knew Larry as a fraternity brother at Eastern Michigan University. He was a person you could always rely on to do the right, kind, and honest thing; he truly cared about others, and had the best heart. He will be missed by his family members, who were always his main concern and love, and by so many others whose lives he touched with his caring.
Rest In Peace, brother.

I remember Larry from my teaching days at Airport. I also remember how he helped crack the John Collins case while on campus at Eastern Michigan University. I lived across the hall from Bonnie, while we were freshmen at EMU. Prayers for Bonnie and family. Sincerely, Jan (Rariden) Queen.

Larry had the biggest personality-he spoke to anybody and everybody. It didn't take long for a stranger to become a friend to him. If Larry had a mantra it would be "Always be Kind" as this was the piece of Larry's heart I witnessed on many occasions. His greatest passion in life was Family-Bonnie and Amy and Rick -he worked hard to make sure all of them were happy and healthy. They gave so much back to him in so many ways because of their love and respect for him. Larry could tell stories that had you rolling on the floor or crying your eyes out. This wonderful man will be truly missed by so many.

Our hearts reach out to Bonnie, Amy, Rick, and the rest of Larry's family.
We taught for many years at Airport with Larry. He was a well respected teacher and member of the community. He was a close friend that we will miss dearly.
God Bless Larry's family and comfort them at this time.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Mathewson family. Larry was a respected educator within Airport Community Schools for many years. To further his influence and assure Airport of continued excellence he served on the Board of Education as well. A pillar of the community Larry will be greatly missed by those who were lucky enough to have met him. Henry Schafer Family

In the late 70's our staff would look forward to Larry's bonfires that went to the wee hours of the night. As Larry would drive his jeep through the woods looking for more firewood, he would say,
"Look at my majestic barn" Also where would you find someone to come to your home to do your taxes and bring a load of firewood ?
