CONNIE JEAN RODVELT

CONNIE JEAN RODVELT ( JUNE 11, 1947 - DECEMBER 26, 2023 ) Connie Jean Rodvelt, 76, whose spirit resonated with the love of family and strong faith, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023. Born in Sabetha, Kansas, on June 11, 1947, Connie's journey began in the loving embrace of her family: Harold Eugene Kurtz and Mary Margaret Sprague (Mellenbruch) Kurtz (who both preceded her in death) and eventually included her younger sister, Marcia. Her childhood blossomed in the warm one-room schoolhouse of Mt. Pleasant, west of Horton, and within the nurturing walls of the First United Methodist Church of Horton, where her deep faith first took root. After graduating from Horton High School, Connie married the love of her life, Carl Duane Rodvelt. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising their children Steven Dewayne Rodvelt (Jennifer Nading Rodvelt) and Tammy Joe Rodvelt-Bagchi (Ken Bagchi) within the vibrant community of Zion Lutheran Church in Everest. Connie's life was a tapestry woven with faith, family, and service. While dedicating herself to her role as a loving homemaker, she also embraced her passion for the Bible, hosting lively study groups in her home, filled with fellowship and the music of hymns and gospel songs. She engaged in volunteer work in too numerous to list school activities, early volunteer work at the Tri-County Manor, in the Cub Scouts as a den mother, and in vacation bible school at Zion Lutheran Church. Later, she found purpose and fulfillment in caring for seniors in private care, with NEK Multi-County Home Health & Hospice, and finally at Three Rivers, Inc., bringing comfort and compassion to those in their twilight years. Beyond her dedication to family and community, Connie found joy in her personal pursuits. Whether delving into the pages of historical biographies, meticulously arranging and caring for her beloved doll collection, or losing herself in the depths of biblical study, she found solace and enrichment in her quiet moments. Though Carl's passing preceded hers, Connie continued to embrace life with unwavering faith, drawing strength from her children and grandchildren, Tyler Preston Rodvelt and Grant Thomas Rodvelt, and cherishing the bond she shared with her sister, Marcia Kay Kurtz Williams (Bill Williams) and her nephews Dustin Wayde Williams (Hollie Holloway Williams and their children Brylie and Tenley) and Brandon James Williams (Audrey Powers Williams and their children Cooper, Dylan, and Ezra). Connie continued a lifelong friendship with her surviving sisters-in-law Sharon Rodvelt and Norma Rodvelt. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews of whom she enjoyed watching grow-up and launching their own families. While Connie requested cremation without a formal funeral, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to allow a family member to recover from a medical issue. Connie's memory will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, generosity, and unwavering devotion, a testament to the simple joy of shared memories and the profound impact of a life lived with purpose.
