Belle Meadows

Belle Meadows HIDDENITE Belle H. Meadows (Nan), 102, of Hiddenite, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at her daughter's home. She was born March 21, 1910, in Alexander County, to the late Oliver Franklin Hines and Addie Lola Lackey Hines. She was a life long member of Rocky Springs United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Rocky Springs Home Extension. She was a nurse's aide at Alexander County hospital for 17 years as well as a farmer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivey Lee Meadows; a son-in-law, John Ray Thomas, Jr.; three sisters, Ruth Hines Sharpe, Eva Hines Sharpe and Verna Hines Smith; and two brothers, Worth Hines and Wayne Hines. Survivors include a daughter, Joanne Hines Thomas, of Taylorsville; a granddaughter, Janet Leah Thomas, of Charlotte; a grandson, John Franklin (Marjorie) Thomas, of Columbus, Ga.; a former grandson-in-law, Kim Elder; a great-grand daughter, Amanda (Steve) Morales, of Atlanta, Ga.; many dear nieces, nephews, grandniece, grandnephews, many dear friends; and two special caregivers, Austin and Louise Hines, of Taylorsville. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, (Monday, Nov. 5), at Rocky Springs United Methodist Church with the Revs. Michael Har-rill, Paul Sink, and Jerry Wallace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family received friends Sunday evening, (Nov. 4), at Adams Funeral Home in Taylorsville.
