Benjamin David Sigmon

February 8, 1985 - December 16, 2022

Benjamin David Sigmon, 37, of Newton, passed away at his residence, Friday, Dec. 16, 2022.

Ben was born Feb. 8, 1985, in Forsyth County, to Michael "Kenny" Sigmon and the late Carol Lutz "Callie" Sigmon. Ben loved animals, gardening, cooking, and being in nature; mountains or the beach – he just enjoyed being there. He was the "king of corny jokes."

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandfathers, W.R. Lutz and Michael Monroe Sigmon; and grandmother, Joyce Sigmon.

He is survived by his father, Kenny Sigmon; brothers, Kenneth "Lance" Sigmon and wife, Tatum, Joshua Michael Sigmon and Jeremy Alan Sigmon and wife, Jessica; nephews, Evan Sigmon, Chase Sigmon and Brody Sigmon; and nieces, Mayson Lail and Alexia Sigmon. Also surviving is his grandmother, Carol Lutz; uncles, Rusty Lutz and wife, Cindy, Dale Lutz, Todd Lutz and wife, Diane and Rick Duckworth; aunts, Beth Bowman and husband, Larry and Jan Sorrells and husband, Danny; and numerous loving cousins and extended family.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m., at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, with Pastor Randall Cauble officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service.
