Calvin Christopher Obituary

Calvin Christopher CATAWBA Calvin Lynn Christopher, 41, of Catawba, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Born Dec. 7, 1970, in Catawba County, he was the son of Betty Barnes Woodie and the late Calvin A. Christopher. In addition to his father, his stepfather, Reaves Woodie, preceded him in death. Survivors include his mother, Betty Woodie, of Catawba; one brother, Ricky L. Christopher, of Catawba; one niece, Kayla Christopher; one great-nephew, Caiden Lane; four uncles; eight aunts; numerous cousins; two step-brothers, Daniel and Mike Woodie; and one step-sister, Connie Woodie. The funeral service will be held today (Thursday, Sept. 27), at 3 p.m. at Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden, with Pastor Charles Worley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, from 2 to 2:45 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be given to Providence Road Baptist Church, P.O. Box 507, Maiden, NC 28650. Betty, I am so sorry to hear of Calvin's passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I met Calvin one time at Community Missionary Baptist Church and he was just like his mama! Prayers!
